The dictionary not only gives you definitions of words, it also tells you the pronunciation, gives you example sentences, tells you synonyms (words with the same meaning) and antonyms (words with the opposite meaning) and provides lots more other useful information too.

 

You will find it very useful for learning new words, and also learning how to make really good sentences with words you already know. You can even find out which words are the most common in writing, and which are the most frequently-used in speaking.
